April has started with good news for OnePlus users. This update, called OxygenOS B60P01, does not bring any major new features, but it has come to fix small annoying problems that occur in daily use and make the system smoother.
Those who use OnePlus brand phones know that such regular updates keep the phone stable and secure in the long term. This month’s update started on April 8, 2026, which is currently rolling out in stages and will reach most eligible phones by the end of April.
What features are in this update?
This is an incremental update, so don’t expect major visual changes. There are no major visual changes or new features, but there have been clear improvements in two areas.
First, the Photos app has received major changes. Now the position of the speed control button has been made more convenient when watching videos. In other words, the user interface has been simplified. Now, you can increase or decrease the speed by tapping while playing videos directly. This will be very useful for those who often watch or edit videos.
Secondly, System stability has been improved. This means that there will be fewer minor crashes or lags when opening and closing apps, multitasking, background processing (this will increase the app’s ability to hold in memory) – these areas. This will make the device’s using experience smoother and faster.
Overall, this is an “under the hood” update – it will not be very noticeable from the outside, but it will make the phone more reliable in daily use.

Should I install this update?
Honestly, Yes, you should. This is not a risky update and it is mostly released for stable users. Rather, it improves security and stability. The speed control improvements in the Photos app and the stability of the system will make your daily use more comfortable.
However, there are a few things to keep in mind before installing:
- Take a good backup (although such updates do not delete data).
- Of course, it is better to download while connected to Wi-Fi.
- The battery may be a little more consumed for the first 1-2 days after the update, because the system runs optimization in the background.
- If any unusual problems occur (such as excessive heating or lag), then wait 2-3 days – the system will settle itself.
However, one thought remains in mind: OnePlus phones usually sometimes experience issues like the green line after the update. That is why it is very important to know about it thoroughly before updating.
