May is going to be a busy month for Samsung users. The wait is almost over, as the stable rollout of One UI 8.5 is expected to begin shortly. This month is going to be quite exciting for those who are sitting on the Galaxy S25 series or S24 series. Samsung hasn’t officially announced everything yet, but from what we know from leaks and internal sources, stable One UI 8.5 is going to come to several major models in May.
One UI 8.5 Stable Releases in May
As expected, Samsung will prioritize its flagship lineup first. The Galaxy S25 series is likely to lead the rollout, followed by the S24 series and foldables.
- Galaxy S25 Series (S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, S25 FE, etc.)
- Galaxy S24 Series (S24, S24+, S24 Ultra)
- Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7
- Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6
- Galaxy A56 and A36 series
The S25 series is expected to get it first, followed by the rest of the devices gradually. Although this is not officially confirmed, it has come from some trusted sources.
One UI 8.5 Test Builds Spotted
Meanwhile, the test build is also going on quite vigorously. Samsung is internally testing the new build on a few models. These include:
- Galaxy S26 series: AZEx build
- Galaxy S25 series: CZEx build
- Galaxy S24 series: DZEx build
Looking at these test builds, it seems that Samsung is looking to release the stable version very soon.
What’s new in One UI 8.5?
One UI 8.5 is basically bringing some of the AI features of the Galaxy S26 series to previous phones. These include improved photo eraser, call screening, Creative Studio, and some other minor improvements. This will be a big upgrade for ordinary users as performance and battery optimization will be better. However, as it is not yet completely stable, some minor issues remain.
There are reports that this update may come to some more models next month. There is also a possibility for the S23 series or some other mid-range phones, but nothing can be said for sure yet.

Expected to be more advanced, this version will bring a smoother experience and plenty of new features for everyday users.
